St. Herman's is honored to host the 2013 Diocesan Young Adult Lenten Retreat, which will be held on the weekend of St. Mary of Egypt, April 19-21.
Our keynote speaker, the well-known Orthodox youth worker and speaker Turbo Qualls, will be coming from California. His talk is entitled: "Let us attend: the Pursuit of Wisdom is the Pursuit of Christ". In addition, Professor Elias Reeves will be speaking on the topic: "Orthodox Christianity as a radical answer to a secular humanist society". Both talks are expected to inspire lively discussion.
In addition to the Great Lenten divine services and the talks, the retreat offers a short service project as well as time for fellowship, small-group activities and spiritual discussions. Priests will be available for confession and spiritual counsel, and retreatants will have the opportunity to sample the life of a family-like, rural parish community.
Registration is now open to college students and older - those who consider themselves young adults. All events will take place at or near St. Herman Orthodox Church, 126 Reese St.,Lake Odessa, MI, 48849.
